Also known as a “clamshell” design, the U-shape enclosure style is highly versatile and can solve a number of enclosure challenges in its standard form, or it can serve as a base for further customization.
L-shape enclosures are similar to the more-common U style, but it can more easily accommodate circuit boards with connectors on opposing sides.
Extruded aluminum enclosures are made of two aluminum extrusions (or side rails, as they're also known), along with a front, rear, top and bottom panels.

Consolet enclosures are ideal for mounting small control or instrumentation devices where the desirable access requires a 30- or 60-degree surface. They can be mounted on either of two sides for placement on desktops, pedestals or other flat surfaces.
Extruded Consolet enclosures combines a consolet shape with aluminum extrusions, creating the ideal enclosure for mounting control or instrument devices on a 30- or 60-degree surface, as well as a printed circuit board within the enclosure.
Hybrid enclosures use a combination of extruded sides, sheet metal top and bottom, and custom machined front and back plates.
